The handicap match between Goku and Piccolo against Raditz finally ended miserably. Raditz's strength was still far above his opponent, making Goku despair, Piccolo lost his arm, and Gohan unconsciously showed his true abilities.
In this fight, Goku also lost his life. In order to limit the movements of the injured Raditz, he was willing to sacrifice himself to receive piccolo attacks.
